George 'Paddy' Worner

ATKIN

George 'Paddy' Worner was born n the 7th May 1903 in Hull. He died on the 28th October 1974 at Beverley.
In 1923 he was living at 2 York Street, Hull, when he married Annie Elizabeth Atkin.

On 5 Jan 1965 George Worner was nonchalantly walking the steel building shell he was erecting when he fell off, from 4 stories up. I'm told he "had a bit of temper" and came up kicking and swearing and, despite his injuries, was trying to fight off the very people trying to help him and get him to hospital.

His injuries were :

1 - fractured femur (r)
2 - fracture on calsis (r)
3 - R + L fractured collarbones
4 - fractured skull

Despite the injuries he survived until 1974 and, although he always walked with a stick, he looked after himself and remained active until his death.
