The River Derwent

Below are little bits of information, that as yet haven't been able to put anywhere else.

The famous Rowntree family, from the chocolate world, once lived in Derwent House.

Mr Reg Jacques used to have a greengrocers, at the now Post Office, on the Green.

There were three cottages on the site of the now Wheatley Place, which was named after Laurence Wheatley, who was a joiner and lived at Beck Cottage. (This was 2 cottages, North and South view); Mr Wheatley lived in the left hand side one and had a joiners workshop attached.

Beck Cottage has been the home for the village joiners for at least a century.
