4th April 1900
      Mrs Tindale very kindly sent Easter eggs, one for each child
 
27th April 1900
       School closed by doctors orders  Measles
 
21st May 1900
     School reopened after being closed for 3 weeks on account of measles
 
2nd July-24th August 1900
   School closed on account of dipthieria
 
11th October 1900
   Several older boys absent yesterday and today they are potato picking for Mr Charles Daniel
 
28th August 1901
  Mr Clarke from the Grange called and reputed that 4 boys had been in the park grounds and had broken down the hedge, the boys have been spoken too and cautioned
 
29th October 1901
      Mrs Taylor came into school yesterday and took her boy home. The boy had been told to go to his seat as he came into school during playtime. The boy has not been at school since
 
31st October 1901
     The boy Taylor is still absent from school and continues to throw stones at the boys and girls as they play in the playground.
   He is a very bad little fellow I cannot tell for his mother prevents his being corrected even slightly
 
21st November 1901
   There has been a little trouble with Frances Chapman again, she came into school late this morning and so did the 2 little Davies girls, Frances had been give some money the night before by a gentleman and she took the 2 Davie girls into Sharpers and treated them to a few sweets, and caused her and them to be late
 
27th November 1901
    May Popplewell and Edward Taylor, Taylor has not been at school all this week. May Popplewell was off all last week and twice this week. Reason given that her mother needs her. The boy Taylor is kept off for no reason whatsoever

28th November 1901
         May Popplewell is present, little boy Taylor is absent  running around the village. He has been reported to the attendance officer
 
1st December 1901
   All the inkpots have been filled with dirt at the last 'Helpers League' If this is the only help they can give we are better off without it
 
4th December 1901
     Frances and Florence Chapman and Mabel and Ethel Davies late for school
 
10th January 1902
     Had to keep 2 girls to finish a speciman of knitting, Elsie Atkin and Edith Simpson
 
13th January 1902
      Mrs Simpson came spying round the school to see whether Edith had been made to finish a small speciman of knitting which she-the mother- objected to as the girl had a gathered (infected with pus) little finger, the teacher knowing nothing about the bad finger.
    The mother reported the matter to the Rector  who thinking that the teacher had treated the child cruelly came too the school and found the speciman very small and simple and the work did not the bad finger. The fact is that Mrs Simpson is dliberately teaching her children to rebel against the teacher
